The author reviews knowledge about interactions between cigarette smoke and antipsychotics, interactions of nicotine with dopamine in the mesolimbic system, influence of typical and atypical antipsychotics administration on cigarette consumption and relations between smoking and the incidence of extrapyramidal symptoms.
