Summary:
The authors describe the methodical approach to the prediction of health risk
assessment within the framework of preventive hygienic supervision. Based on
data in the literature they explain the selection of risk factors associated with
road transport - i.e. noise, emission of harmful chemical substances. For estimating
health risks of nitrogen oxides the authors use recommended predictions based
on epidemiological surveys. They recommend to use dispersion models which can
take into account spatial relations in urban areas for evaluation of exposure.
Key words:
health risk assessment - risk management -identification of noxious
substances - dose-effect relationship - estimated exposure - socially acceptable
