Summary: The authors report on a case of a 30-year-old polytraumatic patient with the rupture of liver,
mesentery and mesocolon. A subileus and abdominal pain was diagnosed seventeen days after
surgery for this rupture. The patient showed normal blood pressure, but he had anaemia and
coagulant factors got worse. A pseudoaneurysm in the level of middle mesogastrium and extensive
blood clots in the peritoneal cavity were found on CT scans. The patient was indicated for
angiography and endovascular treatment. The selective angiography confirmed pseudoaneurysm
of the superior mesenteric artery and coil embolisation was performed. The procedure was technically
successful.
