Summary:

The authors analyze in the submitted review the classification, etiopathogenesis and in particular differential-diagnostic principles of the main obliterating arterial diseases which produce angio-organ ischaemic syndromes. The most frequent disease which causes angio-organ ischaemic syndromes is nowadays worldwide atherosclerosis which however is not the only nosological unit and in clinical practice it is important to consider organically conditioned diseases and all types of non-angiogenic (nonvascular) hypoxias. In the management of angio-organ ischaemic syndromes the general practitioner should collaborate above all with an angiologist (general angiologist) as vascular diseases are urostly generalized diseases, conditioned by numerous risk factors of a medical character and their elimination and treatment are within the competence of internal medicine and its speciality angiology (general angiology).

Key words: vascular diseases - angio-organ ischaemic syndromes - etiopathogenesis - differential diagnosis - general practitioner - angiologist.
