Summary:
Four so-called transits are considered basic clinical sites: the craniocervical, cervicothoracic, thoracolumbar and lumbosacral transit. From the clinical, functional and structural aspect it is however necessary to consider also the segment C4/5 and partly also C5/6 as a transit area. Therefore the author suggests to consider this segment also a specific transit area and recommends for it the term cervicocervical transit. Clinical and structural data are present which support this recommendation.
