The authors present a review of the literature on the most recent findings concerning the immunopat- hogenesis, clinical symptomatology and therapy of chronic dysimmune demyelinization polyneuropat- hies. They characterize in detail their own group of six patients suffering from this disease. They emphasize the concurrent incidence of subclinical multifocal lesions of the CNS in 4 of 6 patients on examination of the brain by magnetic resonance, and the pathological finding on examination of auditory evoked potentials. This indicates possible common elements in the pathogenesis of the disease and sclerosis multiples.
