Summary:
In the diagnosis of Crohn's disease in addition to standard enteroclysis the following methods
begin to play a part: ultrasound in screening, endoscopy with histology in affections of the colon
and scanning using labelled leucocytes 99m Tc. The contribution of further methods (CT, helicine
CT, MR and Doppler assessed blood flow through the mesenteric artery) is foreseen, in particular
in relation to the further contribution of these methods to make the diagnosis of Crohn's disease
more refined and more accurate and also with regard to financial costs.
