Summary:
The author investigated in a group of 99 university students of the Economic Faculty in Cheb their
sensations and mental condition before and after the first blood donation. The enquiry method SUPOS
7 was used. The differences of different items characterizing the mental condition before and after
blood donation were tested by the t-test. Six of seven assessed differences were statistically significant
at the 95.5% level, one difference was not significant. After the first blood donation the psychic state
and sensations of the donors change. The tension, uncertainty, anxiety and fear decline, a feeling of
satisfaction, good humour and rest increases. The variability of values of the recorded sensations
increased markedly after blood donation.
