Summary: The paper provides information on the preparation and first stage of implementation
of a programme based on a research project focused on the complex of risk
factors participating in the genesis and development of cardiovascular diseases
(CVD). The research project pays particular attention to psychosocial risk factors
the part of which in the etiopathogenesis ofCVD was not satisfactorily elucidated,
contrary to relevant somato-physiological characteristics. The basis of the described
programmeis the implementationofcomprehensive preventiveexaminations
incl. psychological examination, associated intervention activities and repeated
similar comprehensive examinations after an interval of about two years. For
evaluationof the results of these examinationsa scoring systemofCVDriskfactors
was developed based on existing experience abroad and in the Czech Republic.
This system makes it possible by adding weighted scores to different variables to
achieve compatibility of results, to compare the incidence of risk factors in
different subjects and population groups and detect inter-, and intrapersonal
developmental changes.
