The paper surveys validated questionnaires and scales for quantifi cation of sexual functions used in the Czech Republic and abroad. It deals in detail with the issues of monitoring sexual functions as a side effect of psychopharmacological agents’ administration and discusses the perils of the evaluation process as viewed both by the patient and the physician. In such cases it is recommended to use ASEX (Arizona Sexual Experience Scale), which is, however, subject to the authors’ approval, or UKU (Utvalg for Kliniske Undersogelser). Both methods are applied in research on an international scale and allow for comparisons of prevalence of sexual functions across populations.
