Summary: The authors examined, using transmission electron microscopy, the lenticular
capsule obtained during phacoemulsification by circular capsulorrhexy in pseu-
doexfoliation syndrome. The assembled findings indicate degenerative changes
of the lenticular capsule, manifested by destruction of the surface layer.
