Summary:
The article is a continuation of a previous paper on motivational therapy. In the first part [10] the
development of the concept of motivational therapy, its indications, comparison with other therapeutic methods and clinical use were described. The aim of motivational therapy is to increase
rapidly the patient’s internal motivation for change, based on the actual motivational stage, to
facilitate the success of future treatment and reduce the number of drop outs. In this part, the
authors provide practical examples of motivational interviews, incl. examples of pitfalls of this
procedure in clinical practice.
