Summary: The presented clinical study investigated parameters of the affection in 20 patients with a cerebrovascular
attack (CVA) hospitalized in 1998-1999 at the rehabilitation clinic in Hradec Králové. Statistical
investigation regarding the prognosis of the rehabilitation potential revealed the closest correlation
between the baseline score of the test of Functional Functional Independence Measure (FIM) in
combination with the stabilographic assessment of sitting on a chair and functional values of the
affected leg. The lighest correlation coefficient was found in a combination of clinical examinations of
the leg and FIM on admission to hospital along with assessment of the stability when sitting on a chair
(0.75). The result of the tests proved the value of stabilographic examination for assessment of the
prognosis of patients with CVA.
