The
journal brings original results and interpretative reviews of basic and applied research
as well as practical experience in the field of biomedical engineering and medical
informatics. It publishes original papers, reports and reviews in this field and also
serves postgraduate and continuing education of physicians, engineers, informaticians and
other health workers. The journal tries to maintain a balance between theory and practice.
Special emphasis is given to information methodology of medical research and clinical
studies dealing with data, signals and images interpretation and processing, and with
information, communication and decision support systems in medicine and health care. It
provides detailed reviews of literature on clinical engineering and applications of
technical sciences in health services. The journal also serves general practitioners who
