The authors specify the most frequent indication groups of health transports - transport to spas, transport to repeated examinations or treatment. They also discussed frequent mistakes as regards indication of health transport and lack of knowledge of the pertaining legislation. Information on important documents - 34 order of health transport, and 39 refunding of travel expenses for use of private care - is supplemented by analysis of actual and formal shortcomings. The authors mention two important problems: justified accompanying of the patient during health transport and long-distance transport of the patient, i.e. correct assessment of the distance to the nearest health centre which can provide the required care.
