Summary: The aim of the retrospective study was to assess the diagnostic value of sonography for detection
and characterisation of changes after breast-conserving therapy and irradiation. Extension, echogenicity,
configuration of lesions in sonography examinations and follow-up examinations were the
basis for correct diagnosis.
Sonography and sonographic guided invasive procedures (FNAB, Core – cut biopsy) are mandatory
tools to characterise unclear lesions after breast-conserving therapy and radiotherapy.
