The authors are describing a case report of patient with symptomatic, surgically treated compression of thoracic spinal cord at level Th 4–6, caused by ossification of ligamentum flavum. The authors advert to rare incidence of this disease in european population while the frequency of incidence in asian especially japan population is relatively high. The diagnostic and treatment options are described in the artikle, especially early microsurgical decompression of neural structures. The authors also point to the disease with the same clinical symptoms and similar imaging caused by calcium pyrophosphate depositions.
