Summary: To diagnose the subluxation of the non-ossified skeleton, not only in the newborn, can be impossible
from plain radiographs, because cartilaginous epiphyses are radiolucent. Ultrasound examination
of the non-ossified skeleton is the approach to this problem. The authors report twocases and discuss
the role of ultrasonography which helps to make a clear diagnosis very quickly. Acuson 128 with 7
MHz linear transducer was used for the examination. The ultrasonographic procedure is well
known.
