Vacuum assisted biopsymade on the mammotome completes the group of minimally interventionist diagnostic outputs that have become a standard in breast diagnostics. The aim of preoperative biopsy examinations is the reduction of the number of surgical diagnostic excisions together with complete diagnostics that leads to the individual planning of treatment (tailoring). Stereotactic aiming vacuum biopsy is indicated for the verification of all types of unclear microcalcifications. Exact indications for hand held technique (with ultrasonic checking) carried out by vacuum biopsy have not been determined yet; they will be given by medical practice.
