Summary: The authors describe an unusual extraction of a foreign
body from the colon, introduced anally by the patient
himself. It was a 23 cm long arm of a doll from plastic
material. After an unsuccessful attempt to remove the
body by anoscopy, the body was removed by a loop by
means of the colonoscope.On day four after the extraction
the patient was admitted to Clinic of Surgery with the
diagnosis of pneumoperitoneum. A conservative treatment
improved the condition of the patient who was then
dismissed from the hospital to home treatment. The control
X-ray examination did not reveal any signs of pneumoperitoneum.
