Summary:
Summary: MTA (mineral trioxide aggregate) is currently considered to be the most suitable
root canal filling material, capable to create a hermetic barrier between the tooth and the
surrounding tissues. MTA is being recommended particularly for the technique of direct pulp
capping in the event of injury, in case of vital dental pulp amputation, for the one-visit
apexification procedure, for the retrograde root canal filling, in case of root fractures and in
endodontic treatment of root canal perforations caused during treatment or due to the resorption
process.
