H. Malíková 1 , H. Vondřichová 1 , J. Dušek 2 , J. Feber 2 , K. Vondrák 2

Summary:

The authors discuss haemorrhagic complications after needle biopsy of a transplanted kidney in children. In a group of 28 patients where a total of 31 biopsies were performed they recorded massive haematuria with tamponade of the urinary bladder in 6.4%, an intraparenchymatous haematoma in 6.4%, perirenal haematoma in 25.8% and a subcapsular haematoma in 16%. In 9.6% patients there was a combination of perirenal and subcapsular haematoma. There was no case of extensive haemorrhage into the retroperitoneum and compression of vascular structures of the retroperito- neum and hollow system of the graft. None of the complications called for surgery and none of the complications led to functional failure of the graft or the patient´s death.
