Summary:

       Pregnancy-associated plasma protein A (PAPP-A) and free R-HCG belong to the major biochemical markers of prenatal screening of congenital developmental abnormalities. The authors characterise shortly PAPP-A, present imunochemical methods of assessment and the importance in prenatal diagnostice.
