Summary:
Scanning electron microscopy was used to evaluate the differences in the quality
of the cut produced by oscilating microkeratome Flapmaker and Draeger rotating
microkeratome. Higher quality of the edge of the cut was found with Flapmaker.
Both microkeratomes produce uniform surface of the cut. Chatter is much less
expressed with Flapmaker. No difference at the interface tissue was found with
SEM three weeks postoperatively comparing the microkeratomes.
