The software for echogenicity comparison of two or more areas in echograms bymeans of grey level histograms contains the majority of higher class ultrasonic diagnostic devices. However, the exploitation of this possibility by clinicians is not very frequent. In the principles of image texture analysis with a special interest to grey level histograms is demonstrated. On the basis of clinical experience with grey level histograms on the diagnostic device Toshiba Powervision 6000 the author gives an affirmative answer to the given question.
