The transplantation of hematopoietic cells is the acknowledged therapeutic method in the treatment of oncological, severe hematological, metabolic and immunological diseases. The paper summarizes indications of allogenic and autologous transplantations in children. Also, results of this kind of therapy in children patients treated at the Transplantation Unit of Bone Marrow at the 2nd Children Clinic of Medical Faculty, UK and Children Faculty Hospital & Policlinic over the period of 8 years are presented.
