Summary:
Intramural Tumors of the Upper Gastrointestinal
Tract – Possibility of Malignity Determination
Using Endoscopic Ultrasonography
Endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) is the most reliable
method for diagnosis and follow-up of intramural tu-
mors. Ability of determination of the degree of malignity
is limited because EUS features have not been defined.
Possibilities of EUS are documented on a group of 68
patients in which 119 examinations were done within
1990–1999. Malignancy was correctly assessed in 91%
patients.
