intervention. According to the results of an enquiry (response rate 71 %) 100 % of
the respondents report as theeffect of theprojectprocurementofnewinformation,
88 % report their attempt to change the lifestyle and 66 % report implementation
of changes. In a selected portion of the group with an increased risk, i.e highly
motivated (n = 67) after 3 months a complete check-up examination was made
which revealed a significant increase of vegetable consumption (from1.5 helpings
of vegetables per day to 3, p .01), an increase of physical activity (from a frequency
of 1.2x per week to 3.2, p .01), reduction of body weight (the BMI declined from
27.4 to 24.8, p0.01), reduction of systolic and diastolic pressure (from 138 mm Hg
to 124 and from 91 mm Hg to 85, both p.01). During a repeated survey six months
after intervention in the whole group (n = 1326,response rate 63 %) a lifestyle
change was reported by 61% respondents, which suggests good persistence.
