Stents in Low Extremity Veins
Roček M.

Základna radiodiagnostiky a intervenční radiologie IKEM, Praha přednosta doc. MUDr. J. H. Peregrin, CSc.

Summary:

Deep vein thrombosis is a severe and relatively frequent disease. Endovascular interventions have gradually become a routine method of therapy in symptomatic patients. Favorable results are reached in the treatment of central stenoses in veins with or without preceding thrombosis by stent implantation. The introduction of stents is recommended in the treatment of hemodynamically significant affection of inferior vena cava, pelvic veins and proximal segment of the femoral vein including stenoses caused by residual resistant thrombus.

Key words: stents – lower extremities – deep vein thrombosis
