Summary: The review describes epidemiology, clinical course and complications of the Schonlein-Henoch
purpura, which is the most frequently vasculitis of the child age. Particular attention is focused
on the Schonlein-Henoch nephritis and the contribution of renal biopsy to the diagnosis and prognosis
is emphasized. Individual therapeutic procedures are analyzed and their efficiency is
assessed according to medical practice based on evidence. In conclusion the authors describe the
results of kidney transplantation in patients with Schonlein-Henoch nephritis.
