The authors summarize pieces of knowledge concerning the situation in the field of prostitution in certain European countries and particularly in the Czech Republic. They analyze the major trends in the field of trafficking in women, the factors that lead certain women to offer paid sex (foremost economic migration), the prevailing forms of prostitution, and the major problems which commercial sex workers face.
