Wireless capsule endoscopy is a new diagnostic method for the gastrointestinal tract, námely the smallbowel. It is an indispensable part of the diagnostic algorithm, mainly in bleeding from an unknown source,and in small bowel tumours, coeliac, and Crohn's disease. If properly ušed, capsule endoscopy is very welltolerated, non-invasive, and safe. Ongoing studies should confirm the utility of capsule endoscopy in oesophageal and large bowel diseases.
