MR in Patients with Migraine without Aura

Summary:

       The authors evaluated the results of cerebral MR in 20 patients with migraine. The patients had strong attacks of common migraine with a frequency of 1–2 per month. There were 18 females and 2 males aged 8–50 years. In the MR findings there were normal finding in 15%, in 8 patients (40 %) were present the focal hyperintensities in T2 weighted images. Dilatation of Virchow-Robin spaces was present in 15 patients (75 %). The conclusion is, thatMRfindings in migrainous patients are nonspecific and they are an indicator for early and more intensive antimigraine treatment.
