Summary:
Objective: To compare studies at selected Medical Schools with special regard to biochemistry and clinical biochemistry
teaching.
Material and Methods: Summary of teachers’ experience, conclusions of discussions obtained during personal visits,
curricula with lectures, seminars and practical courses.
Results: Recommendation to extend clinical biochemistry teaching in the number of clinical cases, overall number of
hours for molecular biology, up-to date diagnostic flow charts, interactivity of the seminars, taking advantage of
e-learning.
Conclusion: Up-to-date trend in biochemistry and clinical biochemistry teaching represents subject-oriented studies
with emphasis on seminars and reduction of practical courses.
