Summary:
The helical CT technique opens new possibilities in the diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases. The
authors evaluate their experience with the diagnosis of dissecting aneurysms of the aorta by means
of a modified helical examination - double helix protocol. They evaluate a group of 13 patients with
aortal dissection, the ratio of different types of dissection, affection of peripheral vessels and the
clinical picture of the disease.
