Summary:
Informed selfcare means positive attitude to life, to own body and soul. It includes prevention and health
promotion, awareness of alarming signs and sympíoms and an active involvement on diagnostics, treatment
and rehabilitation. It is rational and it is based on the evidence and compatible with medical guidelines.
The aim of the project is to develop an integrated methodology od heallh selfcare, understandable for pati-
ents and families, linked to existing practical guidelines.
There is currently no systematic support within the process of guideline development for standardized
health education and information of patients. The bridge bctwccn guidelines and paticnťs information is
missing.
The authors of the project havc identified kcy guidelines, wherc a patient structured information should bc
developed as a priority. The complex information on selfcare for web aplication will be created as well as
pilot written materials.
