Summary:
Endoscopic treatment of Zenker’s diverticulum (ZD)
using the Argon Plasma Coagulation (APC) have been
introduced in the middle of 90’s. The authors present in
this paper results of this new method in three patients
with symptomatic ZD.
Three woman, mean age of 74, underwent repeated coa-
gulation of the septum of ZD with APC technique. The
number of treatment sessions was 2–11 (mean 5). In all
three patients was the treatment effective and no serious
complication was observed. The common complaint after
treatment was a short-term, mild odynophagia. During
follow-up of 2–10 months no relaps of symptoms have
been observed.
According to literary and own experiences, the authors
suggest endoscopic treatment of ZD with APC being rela-
