Opavský R., Kubát A.

Neurologické oddělení, Vojenská nemocnice, Olomouc

Summary:

The presented case report describes a case of a 34-year old woman, who suffered from acute myelitis associated with Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection. The atypical clinical picture was dominated by an incomplete Brown-Séquard symptomatology. Diagnosis was made based on clinical course, serology examination and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). After therapy with methylprednisolone and doxycycline, the symptoms markedly resolved. In the discussion section, authors outline the basics of differential diagnosis and therapy of this infrequent disease.
