The authors present a group of 30 patients after head injuries with a defect of the dura mater covered only by autologous materials (fasciae of the m. temporalis, periosteum, fascia lata, m. temporalis). In plastic operations of the base of the anterior fossa a periostal stalked flap with an extradural localiza- tion was used but sometimes also an intradural one. Healing was achieved in a contaminated or even inflammed tissue. Positive results depend on the normalization in the surgical field and on perfect suture of the transplant.
