Summary:
The study deals with the levels of chlorinated phenols in the total diet of the
children and adolescents. The mean and maximum concentration of the chlorop-
henols investigated ranged from 0.001 to 0.034 mg.kg -1 , and from 0.007 to 0.211
mg.kg -1 , respectively, for the different compounds. The highest mean levels were
found for DCP congeners. The levels determined in the total diet were compared
to permissible levels calculated from NOEL value (No Observed Effect Level). The
mean concentration determined were below the permissible levels (PL). The
calculated mean daily intake of PCP represents 10.7 % of the ADI (Acceptable Daily
Intake).
