Summary:
Coenzyme Q-10 is the first antioxidative defence against free radicals. Its intake is often very low. Coenzyme
Q-10 interferes with lipoperoxidation. Its content in tissues decreases during ageing. Supplementation with
coenzyme Q-10 is recommended in ischaemic heart disease, as prevention of carcinogenesis, in several disorders
of male infertility, in periodontitis, in neurodegenerative diseases and for sportsmen.
