Aneurysms of the visceral arteries are rare vascular lesions that give rise to life threatening complications due to extensive bleeding. Haemorrhagies occur from both the rupture of the aneurysm and the adjacent damaged visceral organs. Authors report a case where the patient had acute abdominal pain following bronchopneumonia with pleuritis. This resulted in the patient’s collapse. Following this, authors observed bleeding into the peritoneal cavity accompanied by an increased level of transaminases. Angio-CT examination confirmed the aneurysm of the left hepatic artery and also showed extensive focal bleeding into the liver parenchyma. During angiography the aneurysm was closed by a spiral wire and enbutylacrylate (Histoacryl). Follow-up sonographic examination and angio-CT proved a long-lasting effect of the therapy. The patient has been without pain for 3 months.
