The article presents an outline of new treatment modalities of hypertension associated with diabetes melli¬tus type 2; it underlines positive effects of drugs blocking renin-angiotensin-aldosterone systém in pre-vention of new onset of diabetes during treatment of hypertension and importance of these substances in treatment of ischemic heart disease. Furthermore, it draws attention to the importance of hypolipidemic tre¬atment by statins in hypertensive patients.
