The authors have presented an unusual complication of carotid endarterectomy with thrombectomy by Fogarty catheter – a direct carotid-cavernous fistula manifested by the eye pain and conjunctiva chemosis. The fistula was solved in an endovascular way by the external carotid artery closure. A case-report is supplemented with a survey of cases published in literature.
