Summary:
The authors discuss views expressed in a survey of 475 respondents of five districts of the South
Bohemian and West Bohemian region, mostly nononors, on blood donation. Questions were asked
how citizens perceive the importance of blood donation, why they were not blood donors so far and
under what conditions they would be donors, what would motivate them and what are their views on
educating children for blood donation. Recommendations are presented how to improve health education as well as an interesting experience from South Korea.
