In recent years, the treatment strategy in patients with rheumatoid arthritis has been changing. The treatment procedures are more aggressive, medicaments are prescribed in higher dosages and in more frequent combinations. One of the most important remedy ranked among DMARDs is also Methotrexate. In view of the fact that it is familiar to many physicians and patients as well as cytostatic, there is not usually a great readiness to prescribe and use it. However, it is a very useful remedy of such an aggressive disease as rheumatoid arthritis and also the dosage applied in rheumatology is safe.The paper refers to its many good and irreplaceble properties as concerns the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.
