Summary:
Aneurysms of the temporalis superficialis artery (TSA) belong to highly rare diagnoses
occurring at least in 1 % of the total number of aneurysms. From the view
of etiology, the dominant frequency is seen in traumatic pseudoaneurysms (90 %)
that arise due to the disruption of an artery and formation of paraarterial hematoma
and its transformation into a fibrous sac. The diagnosis may be established
on the base of clinical examination, however, angiography has been a definite diagnostic
method. Surgical treatment takes the first place in the therapy for the temporalis
superficial artery aneurysms.
