Summary:
The authors reflect on the problem of stability. They draw attention to the differentiatin of internal,
external stability, resilient and rigid stability in relation to the mechanical and so-called functional
concept. The process of maintaining resilient stability of the axial organ is according to the authors
the basic prerequisite of optimal postural function and for locomotor stability.
In conjunction with stability and posture the authors draw attention to the necessity to make use of
the existing relationship between posture, respiration and the state of mind which participate in the
process of motor behaviour.
