Summary: The authors describe the case of a patient where after nine months of the disease eosinophilic fasciitis was diagnosed with extrafascial affections – eosinophilic colitis and impaired motility of the oesophagus. Differentiation of eosinophilic fasciitis from diffuse connective tissue diseases is important, as contrary to the above diseases, the prognosis of eosinophilic fasciitis is relatively favourable and the disease often recedes spontaneously or after monotherapy with corticosteroids or hydroxychloroquine.
