Summary:
A new approach of a psychiatrist not yet involved in the treatment can help in the therapy of some resistant states. Careful listening can lead to a new idea and examinations which can help to state a new diagnosis and treatment. The article presents four case reports where the first diagnoses were dementia of the Alzheimer's type with the early onset (F 00.0), behaviour disturbances with frontal syndrome (F 07.0), severe depressive disorder with suicidal attempt (F 32.2) and periodic depressive disorder with somatic symptoms (F 33.11). After achieving the examinations, new diagnoses were assessed: frontal epilepsy and neuroborreliosis, lithium intoxication, adenoma of parathyreoidea with hyperparathyreosis and B12 hypovitaminosis with neuranaemic syndrome
